Mitutoyo U-Wave Wireless Gage Interface

If you have an application to measure your products where it is not convenient to have cables or a PC close by, then Mitutoyo's U-Wave Wireless Gage Interface solution is what you need.

Mitutoyo's U-Wave Wireless Gage Interface system enables easy wireless data communication from a Mitutoyo measuring tool to a PC using the Mitutoyo's Digimatic protocol. Measurement efficiency is improved by eliminating long and cumbersome data cables.

The user-friendly interface allows data to be loaded into any software product that accepts keyboard input, including MS Excel, Mitutoyo's MeasurLink, and GE Fanuc's Proficy ShopFloor SPC.

When putting together a wireless data collection system, wou will need to have 1 U-Wave Receiver for each PC you want to send data to, and then 1 U-Wave Transmitter and 1 U-Wave Transmitter cable for each gage that you want to send data from to the U-Wave Receiver.

Mitutoyo U-Wave Wireless Receiver

Accepts incoming data from up to 100 Mitutoyo Wireless U-Wave Transmitters.

A virtual COM driver allows measurement data to be input to a program that supports RS-232C serial communication. The communication speed (baud rate) is fixed to 57,600 bps.

The maximum reliable communication range is approximately 60ft. Even when multiple U-WAVE-R units are used within the range of 60ft, interference does not occur since an ID (00 to 99) is assigned to each unit. Radio interference between U-WAVE-R units can also be avoided by setting different frequencies (selected from 15 bands).

Mitutoyo U-Wave Wireless Transmitter

One of these IP67 rated wireless transmitters are required for each gage that you would like to send data to the U-Wave receiver.

The battery life for this transmitter is approximately 400,000 data transmissions.

Although Mitutoyo guarantees a 60' data transmission range, we have tested these units out on the factory floor at distances over 100' with great success.

Mitutoyo U-Wave Wireless Cables

Use one of these cables with a Mitutoyo U-Wave Wireless Transmitter to send data from a Mitutoyo gage to a Mitutoyo U-Wave Wireless Receiver. Use the chart on the right as a guideline to select one of the following correct cables...

  1. Mitutoyo IP67 Calipers
  2. Mitutoyo Micrometers
  3. Mitutoyo Digital Calipers
  4. Mitutoyo 10-Pin Connector
  5. Mitutoyo Round 6-Pin Connector
  6. Mitutoyo Plain Straight Connector
  7. Mitutoyo Plain Straight Waterproof Connector
